Meet Justin Tapp

Justin Tapp

I was drawn to estate planning because I’ve always loved helping people. I didn’t go to law school to sue people or spend my time in court. What I enjoy most is guiding clients through the estate planning process, having meaningful conversations and helping them get their affairs in order so they can feel confident Curran Financial will carry out their wishes.

At Curran Financial, I work closely with clients to make what can feel like a difficult topic much more approachable. I’m good at meeting people where they are, putting them at ease and walking them through each step in a clear, practical way. For me, the most rewarding part of the job is helping clients feel cared for and understood.

My background includes over six years at another firm, where I was fortunate to learn from great mentors, along with experience running my own firm, Tapp Law Firm. Before law, I held a variety of jobs, including waiter, bartender, construction project manager and roles in several areas of legal practice. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 2005 and my J.D. from the Charleston School of Law in 2009.

I live in West Ashley with my wife, Shannon, and our two children, Annina and Rocco. We love our neighborhood and enjoy making the most of Charleston, especially its parks, beaches and greenways. When I’m not working, you can usually find me golfing, playing guitar, surfing, staying active or enjoying a beer with friends.
